Our God Shaped Hole… Perception is Paramount… we must become aware of the fact that the void within us cannot be filled with money, fame, friends, etc. We must realize that it can only be filled with God. In this life we cannot avoid difficulty. But you know what? WE NEED DIFFICULTY.

We, as humans, seek to avoid our pain and sorrows. We chase momentary happiness. We eat a satisfying meal, we buy a new material possession, we get drunk, whatever the case may be, it is always temporary. The satisfaction never lasts.
However, the reality is that we all experience sadness, pain, sorrow, frustration, anger, depression, etc. The mistake we all make is to feel bad, about feeling bad. Accept that life is not a constant state of happiness and a sense of relief will come over you. do not pressure yourself to be ‘happy’ all the time. Instead seek to be positive. In your mind, know that despite circumstances and your current state, things will get better.
Do Not Ignore the Void Within You
Know that your wife, your friend and your dog cannot fill the emptiness within you. Do not use them for constant temporary happiness. Know that God is the only things which can fit within your God Shaped Hole. Understand that life is not meant to be easy, nor are you meant to be in a constant state of bliss and happiness.
But, do realize that, as Les Brown says, “Hard times have not come to stay. They have come to pass!”
“Do not pray for an easy life, pray for strength to endure a difficult one.” – Bruce Lee
